Beginners Sign Painting Workshops
In this two day course professional signwriters Rachel E Millar and Hana Lindsay of Sure Signs, will introduce participants to drawing and painting letters by hand. Proudly supported by AS Handover and Better Letters.
The weekend will start with a short demonstration of the tools and a brief chat about the history of the craft. Students will then spend time practicing brush strokes on paper to get a feel for the painting techniques. After lunch there will be a drawing session where Rachel will explain the basics of two letter styles and sign layout. Each person will choose one short word (3-5 letters long) to draft before its transferred to a prepared wooden board. The rest of the weekend will be concentrated on choosing colours and painting a one-word sign, which will be taken home at the end of the weekend. Each class is limited to six places so that we can spend time concentrating on every participant!
Hosted at Bungo Sign Co, 6 Springhill Gardens G41 2EX from 10am-5pm both days. Unfortunately not wheelchair accessible at present. All materials provided. Hot drinks will be available all day. Please bring your own lunch or try out one of the cafes in the immediate vicinity. Participants will be emailed 7 days before course start date with all essential info.
